Docubase Barcode Maker
Docubase Barcode Maker was born of the idea that users wanted an easy way to associate date with paper files.
Requirements
This application requires a minimum of .NET 2.0 Framework to be installed on the workstation, available here from Microsoft’s website.
The barcode maker application is configured using an INI file which makes configuring multiple stations a breeze.
Below is a screen shot of the barcode maker UI (User Interface). This screen shot is from a new installation without any configurations made.

The items on the interface will be explained later. On the first run from each computer, the application must be activated. This requires internet access and if you are viewing this page, you have verified you have it.
The serial number entry screen will look as follows:

The following message appears when the configuration file is missing:

* A default configuration file is created for you or an administrator to modify.
The configuration will look similar to:
[MAIN] LABEL_1=Label1 LABEL_1_v=defaultValue LABEL_2=Label2 LABEL_2_v=defaultValue
This configuration has 2 fields (Label1 and Label2).
Both fields will use the value of defaultValue when the program loads. If you do not wish to use any defaul value, leave the line as LABEL_#_v= with no value after the “=” (equal sign).
You can add more fields by adding new lines and increasing the #’s like this. LABEL_3=;LABEL_4=;etc…
For each Label you add, be sure to include the value key even if you do not plan to use a default value.
Usage:
To get a value in the fields, you can either type using your keyboard or paste from your clipboard. (Double-Click or Ctrl+V)
The p* checkbox with hold the value in that field as long as the box is checked for additional indexes. (Persistant)
As you type, the preview displays the barcode value for your entry.
The Reset button will clear the values on the form leaving the persistant fields alone and returning any default values back to the fields.
When the values have been entered, click Print My Barcode to send the barcode to whatever printer you would like in your office.

Known Limitations
While there are no restrictions built into the application as to how many values can be entered, there is a limitation as to how many will fit on a single piece of paper. A maximum of 10 fields is recommended when configuring.
Barcode values are limited to 30 characters also due to standard paper sizes (8 1/2 x 11 Letter)
