About
Print 2 DIS is the easiest way to get electronic documents stored into your Docubase Information Suite system. If you can operate a printer, you can use Print 2 DIS.
Currently the latest release of Print 2 DIS is 0.6
Licensing
Print 2 DIS is sold as a per-computer license meaning each license only covers installation on one PC. Internet access is required for activation of the product on each PC.
Features
Print 2 DIS currently:
- Allows indexing of all categories for databases the user has access to store documents into.
- Allows for data extraction templates to be configured to extract text from the document to be used as index values.
- Utilize electronic signature pads to sign documents prior to storage. (as of version 2.0)
Print 2 DIS future:
- Customized forms can be built to display on categories the user wants to display.
- More items based on what users like yourself request.
Installation
Once purchased, you will receive a serial number for your company which will allow up to the number of licenses purchased installations / activations.
Run the setup accepting all the defaults unless you want to change the location of the installation.
*The installation will install a new printer to your system named “P2DIS”. This is how you will launch Print 2 DIS.
After the installation completes, the Docubase configuration window will appear giving you the opportunity to enter the server information and the user information.

Enter the server name and port and then click “Verify”.
If the information is correct, the status will change to Verified and you can now enter the user information.
*If the PC is to connect from outside the office over the internet, be sure to have the hosts file configured with the correct IP address. Your router MUST also be configured to properly forward the client port from the outside to the DIS server.
Once the user information has been entered, click verify and the status should change to verified.
Once these steps are done, you can click OK and the application is now ready to use.
Usage
Instead of selecting a physical printer on your desk or in your office, you will select the “P2DIS” printer after initiating a print from your application.
The Print 2 DIS interface appears with your document displayed in the viewer window.
* Thumbnails will display if there are more than 1 pages in the document.

You have a choice of manual entry of the data or utilizing a predefined template.
If you chose the manual option, you may be presented with a choice of database to store to unless you only have access to one database.
The index form appears based off the categories in your database. Fill in as much of the form as you want to index and click the store button to store the document and close the application.
Electronic Signatures
Requirements for this feature include:
- Adobe® Acrobat® standard or better
- Electronic signature device
Once the index form has been loaded, a new menu item will appear at the bottom of the window. Click this button and select “Sign this document…”
Adobe® Acrobat® will launch and you will need to proceed according to the device you are using.
When finished signing, CLOSE Acrobat® and the document will reload back into the Print 2 DIS viewer now including the new signature(s).
Continue indexing and click the Store button when finished.
Template Configuration
If this is a new document and you would like to configure the data extraction, from the Settings menu select Application => Configuration.
You will need to enter a meaningful name for the template that you will pick from later.
You will also choose the database for which to store the documents to.
The zone configuration instructions display in the upper-right corner of the window.

When complete, click the Save Template button. If you do not want to save the template, click the X in the upper-right corner and verify you wish to dispose of the active template.
